I needed a forum that was appropriate for discussions of the afs3
protocol.  afs3-protocol@stacken.kth.se is a mailing list that was
created years ago for this purpose.  I believe it may even predate
the existence of openafs.  Its not that the list was secret but that
it had gone unused for many many years.

When postings there went unanswered, it became clear that a new forum
needed to be created.  Hence, this mailing list.
