The openafs.org services are in the process of being upgraded as part of
a migration to a new server. Quoting Jeffrey Hutzelman on this list
yesterday:
"Once the mailing list transition is complete, michigan-openafs-lists
will become lists.openafs.org, and this list will appear alongside all
the others. In the meantime, please bear with us."

This mailing list info was posted to openafs-devel last week as part of
the continuing discussion on development schedules and byte range locking.
Several months earlier there was an effort to conduct these discussions
on afs3-protocol@stacken.kth.se but the only response to my postings
there were from Jeffrey Hutzelman who I specifically asked to join.
Wider participation is great but at the moment the primary concern is to
provide a forum for those who have been actively attending the
hackathons and contributing to the protocol extensions currently under
development. This list is for the discussion of the wire protocols
not implementations. The OpenAFS implementations are discussed on
openafs-devel@openafs.org and the Arla implementations are discussed on
arla-drinkers@stacken.kth.se.
